Officially the fastest car in the world, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has dominated the automotive world with its 1200 horsepower speed and astronomical price tag of $2,400,000. It has aluminum, narrow angle 8 liter W16 engine. In 2.5 seconds it can sprint from 0-100 km/h. Though in 2007 it has lost its title to SSC Ultimate Aero but again in 2010 it has recovered and gains the title of the fastest car on earth. With its top speed of 431.072 km/h the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport currently holds the Guinness world record for the fastest production of car.
Hennessey Venom GT: 260 mph
The closest challenger to Veyron Super Sport, Hennessey Venom GT is a powerful 1200 horsepower car, 6.2 liter Ls9 Turbocharged V8 Twin Turbo V8 Engine with a price of $950,000. It has hit a top speed of 260 mph very close to the Veyron Super Sport. Started its life as a Lotus Exige it built on a stretched and highly modified form of it. Hennessey Venom GT hides an enormous peak power output of 895kw and 1565Nm and in less than 20 seconds it can hit 370km/h and 0-100m/h in 2.7 seconds. Gunnies gave Venom GT the fastest car from zero to 300 km/h time for production cars.
Koenigsegg Agera R: 260 mph
Koenigsegg Agera R has a gigantic speed of 260 mph. In 2011 it held the land-speed record for a production car. It can sprint from 0-300 km/h in 14.53 seconds. However, this record has recently been obliterated by the Hennessey Venom Gt by 13.63 seconds. It has 5.0-liter V8 Engine, and twin turbo with a horsepower of 1099. The base cost is $1,600,000. Though Agera R claims 273 mph top speed but it has not been verified by Guinness world record. It has yet to be fully tested and for now 260 mph is considered as the top speed.
SSC Ultimate Aero: 257 mph
After producing many prototypes, SSC sets it Aero as the fourth car to come from SSC North America. SSC Ultimate Aero is the final version of all four prototypes. Tried by Guinness World Records in 2007 SSC Ultimate Aero was the fastest auto on earth from 2007 to 2010 until on 2011 Koenigsegg Agera R beat it. It has 6.3 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, with a horsepower of 1287. The top speed is 257 mph. As compared to the standard Aero, Ultimate Aero is an enhanced version with a price tag of $650,000.
9ff GT9-R: 257 mph
Marking its status as a prototype the car is numbered 00/20. The 9ff GT9-R has 1120 horsepower form but is restricted to 20 units with an altered outside to suit the buyer. The car has 4.0 liter flat 6 twin turbo engine that accompanies a cost of $695,000. The engine is the second of three engine stages. The first was standard 997 GT3 displacing it by most potent stage 3 with a power of 4 liter jump. It is advisable to an inexperienced client to start with the stage 1.
